leader of men. Physical Training for physical fitness at National Defence
Academy is one of the ideal opportunity
and perfect place for young cadets to learn and understand the important
aspects of leadership like team spirit, courage, physical fitness,
stamina, mental toughness and the will
to win and snatch victory needed by Officers, who at various stages of their
careers must be prepared to lead the smallest combat unit or advise the highest
Govt official. This value system is very faithfully upheld by all the cadets of
the Academy. The long training hours with close supervision, guidance and
motivation provide the force for self-reliance with a responsible attitude. The
physical training and sports programme at NDA is designed to allow each Cadet
to achieve excellent physical fitness and acquire satisfactory abilities in
sports. The compulsory physical training programme emphasizes physical fitness,
elementary knowledge in a variety of sports, and sports administration. This
toughness in NDA officers requires strong physical and mental fitness to
withstand this rigorous physical training.
You should be
free from any disease

be any evidence of the mental breakdown of the past

be any evidence of disease of lungs & throat
Eyesight must be
good-6/6 in better eye & 6/9 in the worse eye
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS-
Candidates height should be good & should not be
underweight. (Check the UPSC website where a complete list is mentioned for
Height & Weight standards)
The chest should
be well developed
Candidate should
have good Physical Fitness. They should be able to do -
2.4 km run in 15
mins
Pushups &
Situps-20 each
3–4 m Rope
climbing
Chinups-minimum 8
